Lizard Ridge

Lizard Ridge, originally uploaded by missthg.

This is coming along a lot easier than I thought it would. I did however make a mistake on it and had to tink back 435 stiches to fix it! Once it was off the needles I was happy to see that it will be substanial when completed! I'm using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Roy G. Biv colors. I'm really loving the way it is coming out. I should have more pictures soon.

Did I mention I was working on this too

Did I mention I was working on another Big Baby Blanket? This is I
think the third or fourth one I've done. I think I am just addicted
to the moss stitch part of it. I have more to show but no photos yet.
Those will come later this week. What else are you all working on.
Don't act like I'm the only one with more than one project going! Lol

Have A Wonderful Day!

Where ever and with whom ever you spend time with today...Make it a great day!

Prayer...

Have you ever had someone tell you that they were praying for you after something good happened to you? I had that very moving and emotional experience this morning and I happy to say that it just plain made me feel good and that no matter what, someone somewhere is praying for you.

I’ve had some challenges at work that had me feeling like I just wanted to quit. Crazy schedule changes that had me feeling like I was coo coo for co.coa puffs. I ran into her this morning and she said I heard you got a new position with better hours and I am so happy for you and I want you to know that I was praying for you. Those five words……man o man….I did not hear anything else she said after she said those words.

I have always believed in the power of prayer – but like a lot of people, just don’t practice as often as I should – this really caught me off guard. I’m glad I ran into her this morning and that I was early for work because I was completely moved to tears (and that’s hard for me). After I washed my face I have just been skipping through the day from those five words. So the next time you have a friend tell you her troubles and you don’t know what to say….pray for them – and don’t tell them Sometimes it’s better to find out that someone prayed for you after the fact….

Oh yeah – I will have pictures of some of the stuff I’ve been working on this weekend.

Moving right along

Ms Liberty is back!, originally uploaded by missthg.

Ms. Liberty and I had a conversation and we decided we would give her more of a try. Hopefully I wll have this thing finished before the end of August. I noticed that I had some puckering going on and well...I have a bumpy blanket because I have a death grip on the needles and yarn that I am carrying behind it. It's an interesting learning process. I have learned that I should absolutely read the pattern all the way through BEFORE I start knitting. Anywhoo...I'm plodding right along and I'm on row 10 of the 3rd repeat. I'm at the half way point of the knitting portion of the blanket! I wasnt going to line the back of it - but I kept thinking about some nefarious nutcase accidently unravelling on of the floats on the back and all kinds of chaos would ensue because I would have to maim them for obvious reasons. Kidding....maybe

Ms. Liberty is back!

Ms. Liberty is back!, originally uploaded by missthg.

So I was feeling good after I fixed my mistake....until I realized that I hadnt put my stitch markers back in. Well you know what...I don't need them!!! I freed myself from stitch markers! Oh yeah I 'm really feeling myself right about now. I'm glad that I ventured out and tried something that looked really intimidating and turned out to be easy. Y'all should give it a try.

Starteritis is upon me again

Starteritis is upon me again, originally uploaded by missthg.

It seems that I have contracted a little bit of starteritis again. I have more projects going right now than I care to admit. Let's see - the black and white Liberty blanket. Then there is the mitered blanket I haven't finished. Let's not forget the pink cabled blanket I'm about half way through. Hmmmm...and now I have what ChickenusWingus is describing as a Candy Corn Baby blanket. I laughed when I saw the resemblance - I don't think I'll be adding the white stripe he suggested though. I starting this one because the Liberty blanket was no longer portable. It now needs it own back pack and well just takes up too much room on the train. I mean who wants to look like a bag lady while commuting? Besides, I made a big mistake in it and had to pull it apart. I was just so distraught to watch all of that hard work unraveled!!!!! I made a mistake in one of the lines of the chart and it was just to obvious to leave it. More obvious than the first mistake. I may pull the whole thing apart and start over. The pattern deserves to not have any mistakes in it. So Ms. Liberty is sitting on the sidelines with something else until I can wrap my mind around pulling her apart. *Insert Big Sigh* Such is the life of a knitter. Until then I will be working on my Candy Corn Big Bad Baby Blanket.
